Voxette is Long Bay College’s premier auditioned choir. The group participates in many competitions and concerts and is directed by Mrs Rhianna Maker. Highlights throughout the year include ‘The Big Sing’ National Choral Competition and ‘Voxette Camp’, which is held at Shakespeare Regional Park. Rehearsals are from 3:30pm to 5pm on Tuesdays in the school
Be a part of Showquest! Students create, produce and perform an original theatrical production. It consists of constructed costumes and props which are presented in a choreographed, themed mini-spectacular. The Showquest performance also features audio tracks, optional video tracks, themes, choreography, dance, and lighting. The show is performed in front of an audience of peers,
This is a group for the orchestral strings – violins, violas, cellos and double basses. We play a wide range of music including film, music, classical and popular music. Concert Band is the school’s top woodwind and brass ensemble and meet before school on Wednesdays to work on playing together as a group and cover a wide range of awesome pieces. They represent the school in school concerts, in the community and at festivals around the country. Entry into this group is by audition.
Big Band is the school’s top jazz group. Rehearsals are on Thursday mornings from 7:30am to 8:30am to work on playing jazz repertoire and learning to improvise. They represent the school in school concerts, out in the community and at Jazz festivals around the country. All students in this group must also join the Concert
